J played with his cars today.  Not so unusual for a 5 year old boy, but it’s something I hadn’t seen him do for a long time.  I wonder if it’s just a coincidence or if I’ve created the space for this by finally letting go of my “he-needs-to-be-writing/reading-etc-etc-in-exactly-the-way-and-pace-as-he-would-be-at-school” anxiety, to appreciate the amazing learning I see in him every day,  and to trust him to learn everything he needs and wants to learn in his own time.  Which this afternoon was playing with cars.

I'd love to hear what you think!
